We plan to unite cultural, biological, and medical anthropology and connect these three subfields to other related fields such as archaeology, linguistics, and social science. The APSE student chapter at Boston University will
focus on encouraging, recognizing, and supporting
aspiring sports journalists attending BU with the
tools to compete in a rapidly changing world of
journalism. By aligning with APSE as a student
chapter, BU students will now have a direct line of
communication with the nation’s sports editors –
the very people who decide who to hire when it
comes to filling out a sports department. BU has
already made inroads with the APSE by hosting its
regional conference in April. The early returns from
being the host institution, led to a pair of BU
students getting internships in large part because
they spoke directly to the people hiring – the kind
of engagement that can only be amplified by
having a student chapter on campus. There is now
interest on APSE’s part in having Boston University
serve as a host institution in 2027, despite
historically rotating the host institutions. The
chapter membership will leverage its
sports-friendly location (Boston) to create various
professional and community-based opportunities of
engagement with the various local and national
APSE members (i.e., Sports Editors, Managing
Editors and Reporters) as well as APSE member
organizations locally and nationally (i.e., Boston
Globe, New York Times, The Los Angeles Times,
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, etc.). This is
achieved in part through the hosting of events
such as the Regional Conference, as well as
hosting speakers, scholarships and attending the
national conferences in addition to working with
other student chapters across the country. At a
time when the sports journalism ecosystem
continues to be more crowded than ever, BU's
establishment of a student chapter, which builds off
the momentum of the regional conference, is the
kind of thing that not only sets BU apart from
many institutions but also directly benefits our
student body, which in turn, is good for Boston
University overall as an institution.

The BU Beekeeping club seeks to promote awareness of the environmental importance of bees and actively help to sustain our community’s local bee population. Once a month, the club hosts an all-club meeting that uphold this mission by providing information, hosting a hands-on activity, or fundraising for the cause. Events held in the past include: bulb planting, hive visits, bee felt crafting, informational guest lectures, beeswax lip balm making, hive-site cleanup, and bee-related movie nights. The BeE-board will meet biweekly or more depending on the season/planning needs. The club has previously maintained a hive of honeybees and hopes to do so again, but while it is rebuilding, we will focus on making BU a more bee-friendly campus. To do this, we can work to promote native plant growth, host low-maintenance solitary bee hives, work to dispel commonly believed misinformation that cause bee fear, and inform students on the benefit of bees to our everyday lives.

In the spring of 1994, eight students at the State University of New York at Albany gathered to discuss the issue of establishing a strong Asian-interest organization on campus. The men aimed at tackling a number of goals, namely spreading Asian-awareness on the university campus and building a strong bond of brotherhood between the individuals. These eight men elected amongst themselves one man, Albert Yip, to be the primary founding father, and on March 18, 1994, Nu Alpha Phi was founded. Together, these eight men persevered to create the fundamental learning process that is still used to this day for all prospective members. The major intent of the process was to instill the Seven Principles of Brotherhood, Discipline, Leadership, Pride, Professionalism, Service, and Unity into members’ everyday lives. The Founding Fathers’ belief was that it was through this process that they proved to one another – as well as to future members – that their bond would withstand any hardship.

The fraternity professes to create a bond of brotherhood passed down from generation to generation, including lasting relationships between alumni and currently active members. Externally, it seeks to promote Asian-awareness, as well as to serve as a liaison between the Greek community and the Asian community. This is done through a supportive network of alumni and matriculated brothers who actively engage in participation in community service, cultural workshops and events, university programs, and various other on-campus student activities. Additionally, the fraternity strives to work with various other Asian Greek organizations in an effort to bring unity and recognition to the Asian-American community.

Every other fraternity speaks of “eternal brotherhood.” However, Nu Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc. is the one that shall attest and live up to this challenge. Unlike many organizations, we do not operate as just a group of individuals bound by rules and systems. Though we uphold features of being a legitimate corporation, we treat the terms “Brothers” and “Brotherhood” with utmost sincerity and as literal as we can possibly make it happen. Though we are steadily increasing, we do not pride ourselves shallowly on numbers, but in remaining true to the fundamentals that the Founding Fathers have passed down to us, being exclusive to those who truly deserve to belong to such an outstanding group of men, those who are accurate representations of our Seven Principles, and those who really have a powerful urge to don and represent the Greek letters that we deem sacred.

We are expanding with the objective to welcome prospective members to have an opportunity to be proud of something like never before in their entire lives. We consider it a great privilege to have a chance to both enhance your experience as a college student and also be a part of an entity that will go beyond your college years, a genuine Brotherhood for life. Each semester, the BU BosTones brings a fresh energy to the Boston a cappella scene. We are a co-ed group of undergraduates belting out sizzling arrangements and killer harmonies. The name "BPM" not only represents our college organization but also carries a deeper meaning. BPM stands for "Beats Per Minute," which is a fundamental element in music. It refers to the tempo or speed at which a musical piece is played, providing the rhythmic foundation that keeps the music moving and grooving. In choosing this name, we emphasize our dedication to delivering energetic and captivating performances that resonate with our audience and keep their hearts racing in time with the beat.

In doing so, we help students who want to learn how to write their original songs and produce music. We do this by providing music software (FL Studio, Cubase, etc.), hosting information sessions open to BU students, and helping students one-on-one during weekly meeting sessions. We also match members (singers) with producers to collaborate and make their own music together.

Second, we host yearly and semester-based music performances to provide stage presence and experience. We perform a total of 15-20 songs, with more than half of the songs being fully original pieces from our singer-songwriters, producers, sound engineers, and instrumentalists. We host busking performances across the Boston area to gain more stage experience, have fun, and collaborate with other Korean organizations to promote music. The genres change based on the individual preferences of our artists, but the most popular ones are Pop, K-Hiphop, and R&B.

In conjunction with that, we collaborate with other Korean organizations such as KOMMA, QK, and KISA to host events that teach students how easy and fun it can be to produce their own music.

At BPM, we believe in the power of music to transcend boundaries and connect people from diverse backgrounds. Through our performances, we strive to showcase the vibrant sounds of Korean music and culture, while also exploring and celebrating various genres. Our repertoire spans a wide range of musical styles, ensuring that there's something for everyone to enjoy and appreciate.

We, the Surf Club, aim to expand access to surfing culture for Boston University students. Surfing is commonly associated with the west coast or tropical regions, but we believe that the joy and community of surfing should be accessible to students everywhere, starting at BU. Our mission is to create a welcoming environment where students can learn about the growing sport of surfing, develop an understanding about ocean safety and build connections through shared outdoor adventures.

The Surf Club prioritizes the safety of members during all activities. We welcome both experienced surfers and complete beginners, but we ask that all participants must know how to swim by participating in a swim test. Members who sign up for surf trips will receive a basic safety orientation covering surf etiquette, cold-water preparation and ocean conditions. Trips will only occur under safe weather and ocean conditions. Through organized surf trips to beginner-friendly spots, members will have opportunities to learn about surfing in a supportive and safe environment. As this club will be brand new, we will focus the first semester or two on presentations and educational understanding of surfing and ocean environments.

We hope to be the bridge between students who love outdoor activities and the ocean. More broadly, the Surf Club hopes to plant the seed for a greater surf community in the Boston area, and even doing collaborations with nearby organizations like the Tufts Surf Club or University of Rhode Island Surf Club.

We are a group of students at Boston University who want to educate others about Bulgarian culture and history while building a supportive community for Bulgarian students on campus. When some of us met by chance at BU, we discovered a strong shared interest in forming a space where Bulgarian students could connect and where others could learn more about Bulgaria’s unique culture and heritage.
For many of us, it was initially difficult to find other Bulgarians at BU and build a sense of community. This inspired us to establish a club so that future Bulgarian students do not have to struggle with finding support and connection as we did. Some of the founding members are international students from Bulgaria who have shared how challenging it can be to adapt to university life in the United States, especially during the first semester. Bulgaria has a distinct culture, social dynamic, and way of life, and adjusting to a new academic and cultural environment can often feel isolating.
Through this organization, we hope to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where Bulgarian students can build friendships, seek guidance, exchange experiences, and feel a sense of belonging from the beginning of their journey at Boston University. We also hope to connect students with a growing network of Bulgarian alumni who can offer mentorship, advice, and support. Kesem is the nation’s largest community for children impacted by a parent’s cancer. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled, creative programs and a lasting community.
Every child affected by a parent's cancer, whether the parent is undergoing treatment, in remission, or deceased, faces a unique set of emotional, social, and developmental challenges that are frequently unaddressed by traditional healthcare systems. Kesem is the only organization solely focused on supporting this unique population of children at scale. Kesem fills that critical gap through tailored peer-to-peer support and an empowering model that helps children rediscover joy, build resilience, and find a lasting support network.
In 2026, Kesem aims to serve more than 8,000 children nationwide through four flagship programs- Camp Kesem, Club Kesem, Kesem Together, and Friends + Family Days- delivered by over 5,000 trained college student leaders. These offerings are part of Kesem's broader year-round model, which also includes virtual support, care packages, and community-building initiatives designed to meet children where they are in their parents' cancer journey. As our reach expands, Kesem remains committed to scaling our services so that every child impacted by a parent's cancer can access comprehensive, life-changing support, regardless of location or timing.

At Campus Closet, our mission is to cultivate a sense of community and environmental responsibility by offering a platform for individuals to participate in free, sustainable, & circular clothing consumption.
Dedicated to promoting sustainable fashion practices and aligning with the principles of SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production, our goal is to extend the life cycle of clothing by redistributing unwanted items, reducing waste, and fostering community.
Circular consumption is key to sustainability on a community-level, so BU Closet began hosting clothing swaps where anyone is welcome to donate and/or select free clothing items while simultaneously learning about circular consumption.

To accumulate the clothing, we host semester-long clothing drives while also encouraging swap participants to bring their own clothing directly to the swap. We use social media and on-campus advertisement to promote our swaps. We started hosting clothing swaps in 2021 and have grown exceptionally since. Now, we host multiple swaps a semester promoting sustainable and circular consumption. The goal of BU Closet is to redistribute unwanted clothing to a new owner, extend textile lifecycles, reduce waste, and connect people and communities.

BU Flag Football has been going on for a few years now. Twice a week, we all meet to play flag football or 7v7 amongst ourselves. Boston University Global Engineering Brigades strives to empower and inspire students to work collaboratively with under-resourced communities to resolve water and sanitation issues through the learning process of planning and implementing an effective water system. The vision of this organization will be to improve equality of access to clean water throughout the world. Our passion is to unite students, local and international engineers to develop safe water projects through assessing water quality, determining water sources, and designing sanitary water operations.

Global Medical Brigades is a secular, international, student-operated volunteer organization whose mission is to provide sustained health care to underserved communities throughout the world. Global Medical Brigades is a part of the larger organization known as Global Brigades, which is the world's largest student-led global health and development initiative. Our BU chapter recruits student volunteers and medical professionals, gathers medicine and other supplies in order to lead a week-long brigade. Partnering with GMB and local healthcare professionals, we will be working to provide medical consults, medications, public health education, dental and optometry services, and more to hundreds of community members who otherwise have limited healthcare options. This is important hands-on work that highlights our organization’s commitment to global health equity. Our brigades are essential to fulfill our mission of providing sustained health care to underserved communities throughout the world.

The aim of this organization is to encourage cultural understanding by promoting the appreciation of the world’s various tea cultures through weekly meetings and larger dedicated events. This includes a focus on tea education and appreciation within and between cultures. Some of what we explore includes the different varieties of tea used between cultures, tea's historical role and development over time, tea ceremonies in East Asia, spiced chai for South Asia, and herbal and aromatic chai varieties of West Asia, tea blends in Europe, and teas native to Africa and the Americas. We hope to create a 3rd space for people passionate about learning about tea to be able to come together to try tea from different facets of the world and gain knowledge of various aspects of different cultures. In addition, we hope to be a conduit through which all members can share and educate other members on their own culture through tea. In this way, we aim to create an organization where mutual continued learning and community development is possible and sustainable, allowing members to gain a more well rounded understanding of Boston University's diverse student body in the process.
